House fire in Thepkrasattri spreads to two neighbouring homes
Firefighters controlled a blaze in Thepkrasattri after it spread from one house to two adjacent properties. No injuries or deaths were reported.
A house fire in Soi Baan Nanai, Moo 7, Thepkrasattri, spread to two neighbouring properties early on Monday morning, but no injuries or deaths were reported.
Police were called at about 4:30am. Firefighters used two fire engines to bring the blaze under control. The house where the fire began sustained extensive damage and its belongings were destroyed, while the two neighbouring homes suffered minor damage.
Three to four people were inside the affected house, and two people were in each neighbouring home when the fire started. Resident Penpisut Sorthai told police she noticed the electricity had gone out after waking to take a shower, then saw smoke coming from the rear of the house and alerted emergency services.
The homeowner, identified only as Siri, told officers he believed his brother had started the fire while hallucinating after taking drugs. Police stressed that this was an initial allegation and had not been confirmed.
The cause remains under investigation. Thalang Police have coordinated with the Phuket Provincial Forensic Science Unit to examine the scene, and any legal action will depend on the findings.
