Man Stabbed in Ratsada; Suspect Arrested Shortly After
Police were notified of the incident at about 11:05pm after officers at Phuket City Police Station received a report of a knife attack outside a house on Tha Ruea Mai Rd in Moo 7, Ratsada.
A 54-year-old man was stabbed outside a house on Tha Ruea Mai Rd in Moo 7, Ratsada, late on May 11, and police in Phuket arrested a suspect soon after. Officers were notified at about 11:05pm, and the injured man, identified as Mit Saengta, had already been taken to Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation Hospital for treatment.
Police identify suspect and seize knife
Police identified the suspect as 61-year-old Charoen Wongkaew of Phato District in Chumphon. He was apprehended shortly after the attack, police said.
Officers also seized a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. The suspect was later handed over to investigators for legal proceedings.
Mit suffered a stab wound to the left side of his rib cage measuring about two centimetres deep, according to police. Doctors were continuing his treatment at the time of the report.
The investigation is being led by Pol Lt Witthawat Krainara, who responded to the scene with patrol and investigation officers, under the supervision of Phuket City Police Chief Pol Col Chatree Chukaew.
