Phuket blood centres set August mobile donation schedule
The Phuket Regional Blood Centre and Vachira Phuket Hospital Blood Bank will hold mobile blood-donation clinics across Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi throughout August 2026.
The Phuket Regional Blood Centre (PRBC) and the Vachira Phuket Hospital Blood Bank will hold mobile blood-donation clinics at locations across Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi throughout August 2026, as the PRBC highlights continuing demand for Rh-negative blood.
The PRBC said its monthly outreach campaign sends mobile units to communities, government offices and businesses to make donations more convenient. It said demand remained high because of tourist-related accidents and other medical emergencies.
The PRBC’s August schedule begins on 4 August, from 9.30am to 1pm, at Nuea Khlong District Office in Krabi. Other scheduled clinics are 6 August, 9am-noon, at the 60th Birthday Anniversary of Queen Nawaminth Health Center in Takua Pa, Phang Nga; 7 August, 10am-4pm, at Phuket International Airport; and 10 August, 1pm-4pm, at Pullman Khao Lak Resort in Phang Nga.
On 11 August, donations will be accepted from 10am-3pm at Botanica Luxury Villas head office in Cherng Talay. The schedule continues on 13 August, 1pm-4pm, at Blue Canyon Country Club in Mai Khao; 14 August, 9.30am-1pm, at Vogue Shopping Center in Krabi; 17 August, 1pm-4pm, at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa in Mai Khao; and 17 August, noon-6pm, at Lotus’s Shopping Centre on the bypass road.
Further PRBC clinics are scheduled for 18 August, 9am-noon, at Phang Nga Naval Base in Thai Mueang; 19 August, 1pm-4pm, at Patong Bay Hill Resort; 19 August, noon-6pm, at Central Patong; 20 August, 9.30am-1pm, at Krabi Technical College; and 21 August, noon-6pm, at Go Wholesale in Phuket Town.
On 21 August, the PRBC will also operate a clinic from 9.30am-1pm at Andakira Hotel in Patong. The remaining appointments are 22 August, 1pm-4pm, at Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra; 24 August, 9.30am-1pm, at Makro Krabi’s Mueang branch; 25 August, 1pm-4pm, at Makro Phuket’s Wichit branch and Amora Beach Resort Phuket in Cherng Talay; 26 August, 9am-11.30am, at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa; and 26 August, 1.30pm-4pm, at Kalima Resort and Villa Khao Lak.
The final PRBC clinics are scheduled for 27 August, 1pm-4pm, at Makro Phuket’s Thalang branch; 28 August, 1pm-4pm, at Deebuk Phang-Nga Wittayayon School; and 31 August, noon-6pm, at both Jungceylon in Patong and Central Phuket Floresta.
The Vachira Phuket Hospital Blood Bank will hold its own mobile clinics on 5 August, 9.30am-2pm, at Phuket Provincial Police; 6 August, 10am-3pm, at Kajonkiet Khokkloy School in Phang Nga; 7 August, 10am-3pm, at Cherng Talay Municipality; and 10 August, 10am-3pm, at Phuket Merlin Hotel.
Its other scheduled locations are Baan Kajonkiet Nursery Paklok in Phang Nga on 11 August, 10am-3pm; Limelight Phuket on 12 August, 10am-6pm; The Royal Paradise Hotel and Spa on 14 August, 10am-3pm; HomePro’s Thalang branch on 17 August, 10am-3pm; and Kalima Resort & Spa in Patong on 18 August, 10am-3pm.
The hospital blood bank will also visit Kajonkietsuksa School in Kathu on 19 August, 10am-3pm; Sunwing Kamala Beach Resort on 20 August, 10am-3pm; Kajonkiet Cherngtalay School on 21 August, 10am-3pm; HomePro’s Cherng Talay branch on 24 August, 10am-3pm; Phuket Technical College on 25 August, 9am-2pm; Kajonkiet Thalang School on 26 August, 10am-3pm; and Kajonkiet Pattana School on Chao Fa West Road on 28 August, 10am-3pm.
The PRBC advises prospective donors to be in good health, get enough sleep the night before, avoid alcohol for 24 hours before donating and eat a healthy, low-fat meal at least three hours beforehand. People taking antibiotics should not donate, and donors are advised to drink plenty of water before arriving.
First-time donors in Thailand should be under 60, while 70 is the upper age limit. Donors should bring an identity card, complete a registration form and undergo a health check, including blood-pressure and haemoglobin assessments, followed by a brief meeting with a doctor. The donation itself takes less than seven minutes. Donors are advised to have a snack, rest for a few minutes and drink three to four glasses of water afterwards.
Blood can also be donated directly at the Phuket Regional Blood Centre at 38/193 Rattanakosin 200 Pi Rd in Talad Neua, Phuket Town. The centre is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; from 8.30am to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
