Thailand is advancing the first phase of a planned expressway linking Kathu and Patong, with an opening target of 2031.

Thailand is moving ahead with the first phase of the Phuket Expressway, a planned link between Kathu and Patong that is targeted to open in 2031.

Ploythalay Laksameesaengjan, a deputy government spokeswoman, said the project is expected to reduce travel time between the two areas from about 30 minutes to five minutes.
