Phuket to host Global Wellness Summit from 10 to 13 November

Phuket will host the Global Wellness Summit (GWS) 2026 from 10 to 13 November, with around 600 Thai and international delegates expected at Angsana Laguna Phuket.

Organised by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM), the summit is co-hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Phuket Province. It will be held under the theme “The Science, Art & Soul of Wellness”.

The event is intended to provide an international platform for Thailand’s healing traditions and wellness travel experiences as the country seeks to establish itself as a “Global Health & Healing Destination”. Delegates will include wellness industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, academics and medical experts.

Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana is scheduled to preside over the official opening ceremony and deliver the opening address on 11 November. The four-day programme will include industry discussions, keynote presentations, plenary sessions, panel and roundtable discussions, networking activities, innovation showcases and an exhibition of wellness products, services and tourism experiences.

The programme begins on 10 November with delegate welcome activities and evening receptions. On 12 November, events will include the student-focused “Shark Tank of Wellness” competition, the Innovation Lab and a gala evening. The summit will conclude on 13 November with further industry discussions and showcases, followed by the announcement of the host destination for the 2027 summit.

TAT will present “Thailand Wellness Journey: The Ultimate Healing Sanctuary” at a dedicated exhibition booth featuring wellness routes across the country’s five regions. The display will cover traditional medicine, massage, cuisine, cultural heritage and natural resources.

DTAM will showcase regional Thai massage traditions, herbal products and food-based wellness. TCEB will present Thailand’s capabilities for hosting international meetings and events, while the Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation will highlight Phuket’s local crafts and cultural heritage.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the summit would allow Thailand to share its wellness heritage with international industry leaders. She said Thai wellness combines traditional healing knowledge, nature, cuisine, culture and Thai hospitality, and that TAT aims to connect those experiences with international markets while creating opportunities for Thai businesses and communities.
