Phuket fair offers more than 1,000 jobs and free vocational training

A two-day employment and informal-worker support fair in Phuket is offering more than 1,000 job positions, free vocational training and access to government services.

The Fair to Elevate the Quality of Life for Informal Workers to Stimulate Phuket’s Community Economy is being held on September 17-18 at Robinson Lifestyle Chalong.

The Ministry of Labour said 16 companies are participating in Job Fair 2026@Phuket, with more than 1,000 positions available. Job seekers can register in advance or contact the Phuket Provincial Employment Office on 076-219660 ext 12 or 083-6419990.

The Ministry of Labour services zone provides registration for informal workers through the INDE-REGIS system and career advice through a Career Clinic. It also offers guidance on labour rights, vocational-training demonstrations, checks on Social Security benefits and registration for Section 40 social security coverage.

Vachira Phuket Hospital is providing health checks and flu vaccinations at the event.

Free workshops include making herbal inhalers, traditional gold-thread embroidery, decoupage and wallets from fabric scraps. A government services zone is offering advice on business operations, occupational loans, informal debt and legal issues, as well as registration for SME ONE ID.

Products from more than 30 occupational groups across three Phuket districts are being sold at the fair. They include household goods, souvenirs, food and herbal drinks. The Ministry of Labour said the market is intended to help independent entrepreneurs sell their products, generate income and support the local economy.

The programme also includes a discussion titled “Unlocking the Secret Formula for Building an Independent Career”, focusing on career experiences and advice from a younger-generation perspective. It will be followed by an interview with Patchanok Hananupong, owner of Phuket clothing brand BABA Phuket, about developing a business based on local culture.

The fair follows a Phuket hotel job fair held last month, which attracted more than 1,000 job seekers and offered more than 2,500 positions through 100 companies.
