Phuket officials halt pool-villa construction after finding unapproved second building
Mai Khao officials suspended construction at a pool-villa project after finding a second building that was not included in the approved permit.
Phuket authorities have ordered construction suspended at a pool-villa project in Mai Khao after finding that a second building was being constructed outside the approved building permit, according to a report published on 31 October 2026.
The project is in the Ban Dan Yit area of Moo 3, Mai Khao, in Thalang district. The Mai Khao Subdistrict Administrative Organisation said the original application covered one single-storey reinforced-concrete residential building with a floor area of 127.95 square metres.
The permit was issued on 6 August 2025 and listed actress and volunteer Panadda Wongphudee as the applicant, building owner and site supervisor. The permit was valid until 5 August 2026. Panadda did not submit the application in person; an authorised close associate filed the documents on her behalf, the report said.
After inspectors found the additional building, the organisation's engineering and legal departments prepared a construction-suspension notice and instructed the project owner to seek the necessary approval. The notice was sent by post to the applicant's address and posted at the front of the project.
The report also said officials in Pathum Thani had separately suspended construction at the Rangsit Khlong 8 branch of Panadda's Ongkorn Tham Dee Foundation after finding that several buildings were under construction without properly submitted permits.
