Phuket honoured nine schools and educational institutions for their work on anti-corruption education during a provincial committee meeting on June 30.
Schools and educational institutions in Phuket were honoured with provincial Best Practice certificates for implementing the “Anti-Corruption Education” curriculum at Provincial Hall on Tuesday, June 30.
The awards were presented before the 3rd/2026 meeting of the Committee for Promoting the Implementation of the Master Plan under the National Strategy on Combating Corruption and Misconduct in Phuket Province. New Phuket Governor Chotinrin Kerdsum presided over the certificate presentation ceremony.
According to the source, the awards recognised schools and institutions that had shown outstanding success in promoting ethical values and integrity among students.
The committee meeting was chaired by National Anti-Corruption Commission Phuket Office Chief Suwat Saowaran and was attended by committee members and representatives from relevant government agencies.
During the meeting, officials reviewed progress on anti-corruption prevention and suppression efforts carried out by NACC Region 8 in Phuket during the third quarter of the 2026 fiscal year. Officials also reported on measures to promote good governance within government agencies, proactive monitoring of corruption risks, and the selection of model anti-corruption networks across Phuket for the 2026 fiscal year.
Committee members were also given guidelines intended to increase transparency and reduce opportunities for corruption in the processing of government permits under laws governing public service procedures. Representatives from various agencies exchanged views on ways to improve anti-corruption measures, and members agreed that both prevention and enforcement efforts should be strengthened and made more effective.
Officials said recommendations from the meeting would be used to develop future policies and operational measures aimed at improving transparency, accountability and public confidence in government administration. The meeting also underscored continued cooperation between government agencies and other sectors in carrying out Thailand’s national anti-corruption strategy and promoting a culture that rejects corruption.
