Police in Chalong and the Phuket Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security raided a massage parlor in Rawai on May 14, 2026, and rescued a 16-year-old girl in an alleged child trafficking case. The business was accused of operating as a front for child prostitution, and the teenager was removed from the premises during the operation.
Authorities said the girl, identified only as Ms. New, was placed under state protection after the rescue. She was also entered into Thailand’s formal victim identification process for human trafficking cases.
Arrests and services under investigation
Police arrested the parlor owner, identified as Ms. May, along with a 40-year-old masseuse, Ms. Nid, officials said. Both names were withheld and released only as aliases.
Investigators said the establishment advertised “special massage services” to foreign customers for 1,500 baht per hour. Undercover officers later confirmed that minors were being coerced into providing sexual services, according to police.

Charges and penalties cited by police
Police later filed six charges against the owner under Thailand’s Anti-Human Trafficking Act and Anti-Prostitution Act. Officials did not detail each count in the initial report.
Authorities said sexual exploitation of minors carries prison terms of six to 15 years and fines from 600,000 baht to 1.5 million baht. In extreme cases, the punishment can extend to life imprisonment.
Chalong Police Station also warned massage parlors and entertainment venues across Phuket that employing anyone under 18 for sexual exploitation is illegal and will face full prosecution under the law.
