Five Russian tourists were arrested in Phuket Old Town after a violent disturbance on Rasada Road in Talad Yai at about 12:50 a.m. on May 10, Phuket City Police said. Officers from Phuket City Police Station detained the group after reports that foreign tourists were causing chaos near the Midtown walking street area.
Witnesses told police the group appeared intoxicated and aggressive. They were accused of verbally abusing bystanders and assaulting both Thai citizens and other foreigners.

Patrol officers responded to the scene and brought the situation under control before it escalated further, police said.
The five suspects were then taken into custody and brought to Phuket City Police Station for questioning. Police confirmed the arrests had been made.

The case has renewed concern over alcohol-related disturbances in busy nightlife and walking street areas. Authorities said they would pursue charges to maintain public safety and order.
