Thailand has reported 216 deaths and 1,073 injuries from 1,108 road accidents nationwide during the first six days of the Songkran Seven Days of Danger Road campaign, which runs from April 10 to 16, 2026. The campaign, aimed at reducing road casualties during the Thai New Year, includes Phuket among the monitored provinces.
Provincial Breakdown and Sixth Day Figures
Phrae province recorded the highest number of accidents with 47 cases and the most injuries at 49 people, according to provincial data. Bangkok reported the highest death toll, with 19 fatalities over the six-day period.
On April 15, the campaign’s sixth day, authorities documented 156 accidents, resulting in 161 injuries and 23 deaths nationwide. Chiang Rai led that day with 10 accidents, 11 injuries, and three fatalities.
