Thalang police arrest suspect in underwear and property theft investigation
Police in Thalang arrested Teepakorn ‘Jang’ Prateep Na Thalang after searches reportedly uncovered more than 140 items of underwear and other suspected stolen property.
Thalang police have arrested a man identified as Teepakorn ‘Jang’ Prateep Na Thalang in connection with a series of alleged thefts in the Phuket district.
Police announced the arrest on Friday and said officers searched Teepakorn’s rented room in Thepkrasattri before continuing the search at Robinson Lifestyle Thalang. Items seized allegedly included a white Honda PCX motorcycle believed to have been used in the offences, clothing allegedly worn by the suspect and more than 140 pieces of women’s and men’s underwear.
Police also reported finding jewellery, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, wallets, identity cards, vehicle keys, collectible coins and other personal belongings believed to have been stolen in separate incidents.
According to police, Teepakorn told investigators that he had stolen women’s underwear since primary school, initially taking one or two items at a time and sniffing them for sexual gratification.
Police said many of the seized valuables may be linked to unsolved theft cases in Thalang and that officers were working to identify and locate their owners. Teepakorn and the seized items were taken to Thalang Police Station for further legal proceedings while the investigation continues.
