A waterspout was spotted off Koh Racha Yai in Rawai, Phuket, on Monday, 27 July 2026, with images showing the phenomenon over the sea, according to Thai local media.

Several tourist and passenger boats were seen nearby. No injuries or damage were reported, and the waterspout gradually dissipated.

The Thai Meteorological Department warned that the southwest monsoon over the upper Andaman Sea would strengthen from 27 to 30 July, with waves forecast to reach two to three metres. The department advised boats to proceed with caution and avoid areas experiencing thunderstorms, while small boats in the upper Andaman Sea were advised to remain ashore during the period.
