Thanachart Insurance supports six Phuket shrines for fifth consecutive year
The insurer is supporting six shrines in Phuket as part of efforts to sustain the province’s Vegetarian Festival and local cultural traditions.
Thanachart Insurance Public Company Limited is supporting six shrines in Phuket for the fifth consecutive year as part of efforts to sustain the province’s Vegetarian Festival, the company said.
The supported shrines are Jui Tui Tao Bo Keng, Pud Jor, Kathu, Bang Niew, Guan Yu Ban Na Bon and Thung Thong. The initiative is being carried out under the company’s “Tua Tueng Phrom Chuay” concept, which it describes as a commitment to supporting customers and local communities.
The Phuket Shrine Association said the festival depends on cooperation among shrine committees, volunteers, residents, government agencies and private-sector supporters. The association said continued support would help communities preserve the tradition and pass its cultural value to younger generations.
A senior adviser to the Phuket mayor and honorary adviser to the Phuket Shrine Association said the festival reflects Phuket’s beliefs, way of life and community ties. He said efforts to preserve it should also give younger people opportunities to learn about and participate in the tradition.
Mahaphon Chindakhan, Thanachart Insurance’s chief officer for marketing strategy and customer experience management, said the company was pleased to support an important Phuket tradition. He said the insurer’s customers, business partners and branch on Chaloem Phra Kiat Rama IX Road had strengthened its connection with the province and encouraged it to support activities important to the local community.
