Mai Khao Beach is being highlighted as a quieter family holiday option near Phuket International Airport, with Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort located about 15 minutes away by car, according to a travel feature published by The Thaiger on 4 August 2026.
The beach is on Phuket’s northwest coast and stretches for around 11 kilometres along the island’s northern coastline. The Thaiger described the area as less crowded than popular destinations such as Patong, Kata and Karon, with wide sandy beaches and a more peaceful setting for families.
The feature said Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort offers spacious accommodation, tropical gardens and direct beach access. Its listed room categories include Premium Rooms, Premium Pool Access Rooms and suites.
Facilities identified as suitable for children include a Kids Club, a children’s swimming pool, family-friendly activities and outdoor areas. The resort also offers international breakfast selections, Thai food, seafood and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, as well as family-friendly menu choices, the report said.
Mai Khao’s location also provides access to attractions in northern Phuket, while destinations including Phuket Old Town, Phang Nga Bay and nearby island-tour departure points can be visited on day trips, according to The Thaiger.
The feature presented the resort as an alternative to Phuket’s busier tourist areas for families seeking a beachfront stay with shorter transfers from the airport.
